This is a good way to save the money in running costs, as the cyclical running ensures things run only in the way that is required.
Variable air volume conditioners work a bit differently. Here the zone motors reverse ducted air conditioning system to provide different temperature control for different rooms. There are blades to restrict or increase air flow as required.
