The Chicago Bulls did it again. For the second time this season, the Bulls put an end to a team’s winning streak after beating the Knicks in overtime 118-111 last Thursday. New York was storming the league with 13 straight wins going to the playoffs before meeting Chicago.
The Miami Heat was the first victim of the Bulls’ recent knack of clamping down on streaking teams. The Heat was in the midst of their epic 27-game run to beat NBA’s all-team winning streak record of 33 games set by the 71-72 Lakers.
Coach Tim Thibodeau should be happy with his bench to pull off these mind-blowing victories despite his team being hit by the injury bug the entire season. Even if no one could even remember the last time the Bulls was complete, their firepower has proven to be dominant as they approach the playoffs.
